Decision on refugee accommodation in Pulheim
Today I tried twice to reach a responsible employee of the city of Pulheim by telephone to inquire about the decision made at yesterday's (May 7th) special meeting of the Pulheim city council regarding refugee accommodation. Unfortunately without success! The employee was probably in a long personal conversation! A call back today didn't work either. Therefore, unfortunately I cannot report on the decision from a first source! However, I will still personally contact the city of Pulheim again after tomorrow's public holiday, at the beginning of next week at the latest after a possible long weekend, and inquire about the council's decision.
But I can quote from a public report from Radio Erft on the topic “Pulheim: Decision made about refugee accommodation”, which I found on the Internet! That should be allowed!? But, as already noted, for me it is NOT the same as first-hand information!
Radio Erft reports that the Pulheim city council has made a decision and the members voted by a large majority in favor of a proposal from the administration! As I see it, the city council voted for the new SECOND variant, which I already reported on in my article “Counterpoles” from today.
Accordingly, 72 refugee accommodations will be built in STOMMELN An der Kopfbuche as planned.
A two-story container building with 40 places is to be built in SINNERSDORF Hedwigstrasse/Christophstrasse, which is 14 fewer places than originally planned.
And in BRAUWEILER Bernhardstrasse/Laurentiusweg three containers will be built for a maximum of 196 refugees... instead of, as previously planned, for 270 to 300 people! If the fourth container is still needed, it will be set up later.
According to Radio Erft, a contact point in the administration will be created for residents of refugee accommodation.
And now the decision regarding the refugee problem in Pulheim has finally been made! The citizens and residents of the refugee shelters fought and achieved at least a small change with their efforts! At least it's better than nothing! Let's make the best of it!
