14 gymnasts from TuS Mondorf at the start

Mondorf. 14 gymnasts from TuS Mondorf in six age groups took part in the individual championships of the Rhein-Sieg/Bonn Gymnastics Association in Birk. The best ten gymnasts in a year can qualify for the next round of this competition, the association group of the gymnastics associations Aachen, Düren, Cologne and Rhein-Sieg/Bonn.

The youngest gymnasts, born in 2016/2015 and 2014/2013, started in the morning. Leonie Dziamski (2015) performed the highest permitted exercise on all four apparatus. In the strongest age group with 54 starters, she achieved a strong 11th place and only narrowly missed out on qualifying place by 0.05 points.

Sophie Nietzsche (2014) and Lena Gönnersdorf (2013) started in the next oldest year. Lena performed a higher exercise on two apparatuses than at the last competition and the beam also worked better on both than in training. In the end, Sophie and Lena shared 27th place in a strong field of 51 gymnasts.

In the afternoon the older gymnasts started. In the 2012/2011 class, 30 gymnasts competed for qualification.

Sara Policastro (2011) showed solid performances on floor and vault. Unfortunately, she had a bit of bad luck on the parallel bars and the beam didn't turn out that well either, she came in 27th place. Nele Hinz (2012) did one exercise higher on the beam. She performed well and placed 23rd. Eva Marie Hahn (2012) performed her exercises without any major mistakes and reached 17th place. Luisa Köppler (2011) secured the first qualifying place for TuS Mondorf. After a good competition, she took 10th place. Four gymnasts from TuS also competed in the 2010/2009 year group, with a total of 20 gymnasts competing here.

Sharina Hadrys (2009) showed two new exercises on vault and parallel bars. Unfortunately the parallel bars didn't work like it did in training. But she demonstrated a safe exercise on the ground. In the end it was 16th place for her. Samira Örs (2010) performed her exercises with only minor insecurities and placed 12th. She can look forward to a replacement spot in the association group. Soraya Lucas (2010) narrowly missed the podium and took fourth place after a strong competition. She achieved the best score in her year on beam and can also be happy about her qualification. Enie Seeliger (2010) had an extremely powerful competition. She showed the highest approved exercises on all four devices and was rewarded with the title of association individual champion in the 2010/2009 year.

In the next year of 2008/2007, 16 gymnasts competed, all of whom had already qualified for the association group. Alena Policastro (2008) showed a good competition and only struggled a bit on the beam, in the end it was 12th place for her.Kaja Vieg (2005) and Sena Su Cetin (2006) were in the oldest year group that day, year group 2006 and older. There were eight gymnasts at the start. Sena Su showed strong competition. She also achieved the best score in her year on beam and was rewarded with 3rd place. Kaja Vieg (2005) went one better and became runner-up individual champion in her year.

With seven qualifications under their belt, we will now go to Zündorf on May 25th for the association group decision, where the ten best gymnasts in a year can qualify for the highest competition, the RTB state finals.
